Diagnostic tools and precision medicine in thyroid pathology
Our multidisciplinary research group focuses on the development of diagnostic tools and strategies that allow for individualized diagnosis and treatment of patients with thyroid pathology, particularly thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer. This approach will allow us to advance towards precision medicine, minimizing unnecessary risks and improving the quality of life of patients; and optimize the efficiency of the resources of our health care system. In addition, it is expected that this strategy will allow us to generate innovative solutions that will drive an economic return for IRYCIS and the society in general through the registration of patents and their subsequent commercialization.

Milestones
- The ULISSES DS project, led by Dr. Pablo Valderrábano, was selected for the "Venture Building - Opportunity Validation" transfer program, organized by The Collider as part of Mobile World Capital Barcelona.
- An intellectual property registration, "SENDIMUST: OPTIMIZATION OF THE QUALITY OF THYROID ULTRASOUND REPORTS IN THE COMMUNITY OF MADRID," reference 2505141740948, protects an app that generates structured thyroid ultrasound reports using a graphical interface. A certified trade secret registration was also obtained for the proprietary standardization methodology.
