Diagnostic tools and precision medicine in thyroid pathology

Our multidisciplinary research group focuses on the development of diagnostic tools and strategies that allow for individualized diagnosis and treatment of patients with thyroid pathology, particularly thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer. This approach will allow us to advance towards precision medicine, minimizing unnecessary risks and improving the quality of life of patients; and optimize the efficiency of the resources of our health care system. In addition, it is expected that this strategy will allow us to generate innovative solutions that will drive an economic return for IRYCIS and the society in general through the registration of patents and their subsequent commercialization.

Milestones

  1. Development of the initial prototype of SENDIMUST.
  2. Grant S2022/BMD-7379 (iTIRONET-CM), that allow us to study the hematological toxicity of radioactive iodine treatment.
  3. Grant PI23/01626 (U-START), that allows our group to continue developing our ULISSES technology.
  4. Grant UAH-IRYCIS23/08, that allows our group to continue developing our solution for 3D volume reconstruction of ultrasound images in collaboration with researchers from UAH.
  5. Completion of project ULISSES-BAT, with which we have developed our first ULISSES apps for the diagnosis of breast and thyroid nodules.
