Strategic objectives
- Synthesize a dendritic system platform capable of acting as a non-viral vector for drug and nucleic acid delivery.
- Synthesize a dendritic system platform with intrinsic therapeutic activity against cancer and microbial diseases, or as an antiviral agent.
- Establish collaborations with other groups within the Institute that may share common research interests.
- Apply for European projects through and with IRYCIS.
Research lines
- Synthesis of carbosilane-type dendritic systems for use as non-viral drug or nucleic acid vectors or as therapeutic agents.
- Dendronization of molecules of pharmacological interest (drugs, peptides, antibodies, etc.).
- Preparation of carbosilane metallodendritic systems for bioinorganic applications.
- Dendronization of nanostructured materials for biomedical applications.
- Synthesis of dendritic nanogels for drug encapsulation.
- Application of dendritic systems against microbial resistance.
- Application of dendritic systems against viruses, particularly HIV.
- Applications of dendritic systems against cancer.
- Applications of dendritic systems against neurodegenerative diseases.
