Quality Committee

The Quality Committee was set up in May 2021 at the request of the Institute's management, which considered it necessary to review the quality policy, design a quality plan and generally provide advice on quality issues.

Composition of the Quality Committee

  • President: Sonia Camaño. Coordinator and Head of Quality at the Hospital-IRYCIS Biobank.
  • Secretary: Emma González. Coordinator and Quality Manager of the Innovation Unit-IRYCIS.
  • Members:
    • Ana Pérez. Quality Manager of the FIBIO-HRC.
    • Itziar de Pablo. Quality Manager of the Early Phase Clinical Trials Unit - IRYCIS.
    • Purificación Pastor. Quality Manager of the Hospital's ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.

Functions

The functions of the Quality Committee, including but not limited to:

  • The issuing of reports and opinions on Institute matters relating to quality at the request of its governing and/or management bodies.
  • To ensure compliance with and dissemination of the Quality Policy.
  • Drawing up the IRYCIS Quality Plan in line with the current strategy, evaluating its monitoring and proposing improvements where necessary (IRYCIS Quality Plan 2021-2025).
  • Design and fulfilment of quality objectives.
  • In the IRYCIS Services and/or Units that require it, providing advice and consultancy in the implementation of a quality management system.
  • Preparation of the annual quality report.
  • In general, advising the IRYCIS on quality matters.

Objectives

The objectives to be developed by the Quality Committee, as detailed in the Quality Plan, are as follows.

  1. To strengthen and promote the role of the Quality Commission in the Institute as the backbone of all activities.
  2. To review, update and disseminate the quality policy, in line with the purpose and context of the Institute, its mission and vision.
  3. To ensure that quality is implicit in the development and fulfilment of the Atenea Strategic Plan 2021-2025.
  4. Promote the implementation of a process approach in the Institute's transversal scientific-technical support units (UCA/UCS) that require it, as well as in the Technical Office of the FIBioHRC based on the specific regulations in each case.
  5. Maintain and improve the certified systems of the units currently in place at the IRYCIS.
  6. Establish a monitoring system to track the status of the actions developed in the ATENEA Strategic Plan (and its related plans) and assess the effectiveness of their implementation.
  7. To provide support on quality issues to the different members of the IRYCIS, management, management unit, governing bodies and advisory bodies, ensuring a culture of quality at a global level in the Institute and generating new channels of participation.
  8. Strengthen the alliance with the Hospital's Quality Unit.
  9. To assess the satisfaction of the Quality Committee's participation in the different interest groups.
  10. Encourage the development of improvement actions that allow us to respond to the needs of our stakeholders and anticipate changes.
